A clear, careful approach

Privacy & confidentiality

This page explains how this public website works and how I approach information families choose to share with me during advocacy services.

Website information

I use Vercel to host and deliver this website, including the pages and the photos and logo image files served with them. When you visit, Vercel may process technical information needed to deliver and help protect the service, such as your IP address, browser or device information, request information, and service-generated logs.

Google Fonts supplies the typefaces used on the site. Your browser makes separate requests to Google's font service when it loads those fonts, and Google handles those requests under its own privacy practices.

This website is informational and is not a portal for case intake or client accounts. It does not offer account registration, online forms, document or record uploads, appointment booking, or a place to submit confidential information. Please use only the direct telephone, text-message, or email links provided to contact me, and do not send private records or sensitive personal information through the website.

Contacting Amber

When you choose to call, text, or email, you decide what information to share. Those actions open your phone, text-message, or email service; they do not send information through a website form. A Request a Call link opens a drafted email with space to suggest times and time zone and a preferred contact method. It is not sent unless you choose to send it, and Amber confirms personally.

You may choose to share your name, phone number, email address, a preferred contact method or time, and a brief description of your concern. I use that information to respond, arrange a conversation, and, if we decide to work together, provide advocacy services. Please do not send educational records or other sensitive student information in an initial call request, text, or email.

Confidentiality in advocacy services

At Advocacy by Amber, I understand that families trust me with personal and sensitive information about their children.

Information and educational records shared with me are used to understand your child’s individual needs, review educational concerns, and provide advocacy services.

I respect your family’s privacy and do not sell or use your personal information for marketing purposes. Information is shared with schools or other parties only as necessary for advocacy services and with your authorization.

Permission and required disclosures

Separately from the limited website-service processing described on this page, I discuss and obtain your authorization before sharing information with a school or another party as part of advocacy services. If disclosure is required by law, I may disclose information as required.

Records shared privately

Retention and deletion arrangements for educational records that families privately share are confirmed with families as part of advocacy services. This public website does not set or automate retention or deletion of those records.

Website services and links

Vercel provides hosting and content delivery for this website. Google Fonts provides the web fonts used on the pages. Each provider has its own privacy practices.

This site includes links to Facebook and may link to other external resources. I do not control those sites or their privacy practices. Read an outside site's privacy notice before you provide it with personal, private, or sensitive information.

Analytics and cookies

I have not added a separate audience-analytics or advertising-tracker script to this Vercel version of the website.

Vercel may still process technical request and service-log information to host, deliver, and help protect the site. Those hosting operations are different from a separately added audience-analytics or advertising tracker.

This does not mean that Vercel never uses cookies or never collects technical information. Cookies and similar technologies can depend on the service, browser, and settings, and Vercel describes its own practices in its privacy and cookie notices.

Children and this site

This website is intended for parents, guardians, and other adults seeking educational advocacy information. It does not intentionally ask children to submit personal information through the site. Please have an adult make the first contact and avoid sending a child’s records or other sensitive details in that first message.

Security and privacy questions

I take your trust seriously. Even so, no website, email service, text-message service, or electronic transmission can be guaranteed completely secure. Please use care when deciding what to share electronically, especially in an initial inquiry.

If you have a privacy question about this website or Advocacy by Amber’s services, please email amber@advocacybyamber.com.
